As soon as you enter Zoutelande, you can feel it: everything moves a little slower here. The sound of the waves, the smell of the sea and the friendly atmosphere of the village ensure that you automatically relax. This charming coastal village is a stone's throw from Camping Zuiderduin and, in our opinion, is one of the best places in Zeeland to completely recharge your batteries.

Zoutelande has been popular with families, walkers, beach lovers and those seeking peace and quiet for many years. And that's not surprising: the village has everything that makes a holiday by the sea so special. Wide sandy beaches, high dunes, charming streets and, above all, the most hours of sunshine in the Netherlands. It's no coincidence that this stretch of coast is also known as the Zeeland Riviera.md.

The only south-facing beach in the Netherlands

Zoutelande has a special beach. It is the only beach in the Netherlands that faces completely south. And that means sun, lots of sun. Perfect for a day at the beach with the children, an afternoon of daydreaming in your deckchair or a romantic walk at sunset. The beaches are clean, safe and are awarded the Blue Flag every year, an international quality and sustainability label.

Colourful wooden beach huts line the dunes, and in summer there is an atmosphere of holiday and freedom. On warm days, you can relax at a beach pavilion for lunch or a drink with a view of the sea. And if you get up early, you can literally see the sun rise out of the sea....

Events and activities

There is something to do in and around Zoutelande all year round. From sporting events such as the Coastal Marathon and the annual beach motocross, to traditional ring riding and summer evening markets. There is also plenty to do in terms of culture, with exhibitions, music and small local festivals.

Prefer to be active yourself? Then it's good to know that there are plenty of cycling and walking routes starting from the village. You can hire a bicycle in Zoutelande and explore the rest of Walcheren from there. Think of routes along the coast, across country lanes and through cosy villages such as Westkapelle and Domburg.
